Bulgaria is a country in South Еastern Europe, situated on the Balkan Peninsula. The country’s population is 7.1 million people and the biggest cities are Sofia (the capital), Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Ruse and Stara Zagora. In 2016 the GDP per capita was 7,350 USD.
Geographically, the country has a bit of everything – magnificent mountains (the highest on the Balkan peninsula is Musala peak in the Rila mountain), amazing lakes and rivers (the Danube River is the main shipping artery and it is also the country’s Northern border with Romania), many untouched forests, caves and of course, the unique Black Sea coast.
In the past years Bulgaria has become one of the most visited places in Eastern Europe, thanks to its amazing nature, the well-developed tourist infrastructure and the good price/level of service ratio.
